Born 1978 as twins with a sisiter. Married to mercy with two kids Prince and Chimwemwe. Mphundu started acting when he was 8 years old in primary school. Many say he was born with Theatre in his heart. Since school he has been acting in many plays that led him to choose Theatre as a career. As he follows his passion the journey continued when he was spotted by Nanzikambe Arts Creative Director. In Nanzikmbe developed skills as a facilitator, trainer, actor and project manager. Many have been trained since he has worked with Prisoners, Street Kids, People with Disabilities, Vulnarable Women and up coming artists in Malawi. Mphundu Mjumira is renowned in Malawi for his many stage performances: The Little prince, Midsummer nights dream, Accidental Death of Democracy, The Frogs, Three Penny Opera, Romeo and Juliet, The Crocodiles are Angry at Night, Waiting for Godot, Animal Farm, Das Spiel ist aus and Ku Kabula. Mphundu has performed regularly in the last 3 years with Theatre Konstanz in Germany and has established his own theatre company in Malawi.
