Johanna Merceron is a French dance artist, trained in contemporary dance at the Regional Conservatoire of Lyon in France followed by Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London. During her training she performed in works by emerging as well as established artists (such as Mathilde Monnier, Carolyn Carlson, Shobana Jeyasingh, Struan Leslie and Matthias Sperling among others) and furthered her work experience through placements with Destino Dance Company in Ethiopia where she taught and undertook research into community dance as a vehicle for social change, as well as with the Ballets C de la B in Belgium.

Johanna has taken part in a range of research and performance works as well as choreographic residencies (such as Lake Studios in Berlin and SE.S.TA in Prague) in various venues across the UK and Europe, many of those projects being site specific and interactive which has become a current theme of her work practice. She has been working with BitterSuite Company since 2015 on cross-modal sensory performances alongside a number of creative practitioners, and more recently with IJAD Dance Company on a research project around space and gravity. Johanna is very enthusiastic about making dance accessible to all and currently facilitates workshops for vulnerable and marginalised groups of people in various institutions across London.
